I am a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist in the Province of Ontario, a Certified Canadian Life Care
Planner, a Registered Rehabilitation Professional and a Communication Intermediary within the justice system. In my private practice, I balance assessment and treatment services for adults, children and youths.
I served as an expert panel member to develop the Preferred Practice Guidelines for Cognitive Communications for the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) in 2001, 2002, and 2014. I was a member of the Standard of Practice Advisory Group to develop the Standard of Practice for Life Care Planners for the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals in 2013–2014, 2024-2025. I was a member of the Health Service Provider (HSP) Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) appointed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) from 2019 to 2022. I was appointed by Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) to the Speech-Language Pathology Private Practice Working Group in 2022 to address issues in private practice and to work on the scope of practice for Speech-Language Pathologists across Canada. I am a member of the Peer Review Panel for the College of Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP). I qualified as an expert witness in Speech-Language Pathology, Rehabilitation, and Life Care Plans in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario and with Arbitration proceedings at FSCO, and as an expert Communication Intermediary in the Superior Court of Justice Criminal cases. In addition to my Canadian certifications, I also hold certifications with the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC).
I am the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) Eve Kassirer Lifetime Achievement Award.
I provide life care plans and independent examinations for children and adults, as well as medico-legal expert Speech, Language & Cognitive-Communication reports for malpractice and personal injury cases.
I am competent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
The conditions most commonly seen in my practice include spinal cord injury and developmental or acquired bodily injuries to a single or multiple organs involving the head/brain, kidneys, ears, face, teeth, tongue, cochlear system, neck/arm/shoulder/hands, vocal cords, and eyes, as well as various mental health and behaviour issues in children and adults.
