Deborah holds a Master’s in healthcare leadership (MHL), a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and an active Registered Nurse (RN) license. She is a Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN), Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP), Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant (MSCC), Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) and a Diplomat of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Deborah has bedside experience in Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Adult ICU, Medical-Surgical and Rehabilitation Nursing, including home health care. Insurance experience in commercial health, Medicare, Medicaid, workers compensation, auto-liability and disability (STD/LTD) medical management, including catastrophic spinal cord injury, brain injury, concussion, amputations, multiple trauma and rehabilitation as well as many chronic disease states. Retained by both Defense and Plaintiff attorneys, she brings 20+ years of medical record reviews for Life Care Planning with Expert Witness experience in both state and Federal litigation, including mass tort claims. As an early adopter of data analysis and AI, Ms. Watkins founded an award-winning machine-learning medical forecasting tool for Medicare Set-Asides in 2016 and a timely COVID-19 calculator in 2020, with proven results and actuarial endorsement. She is a recognized leader and speaker at National Conferences.
