Curtis Udell is 24-year veteran Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and national subject matter expert in medical record review and service abstract, CPT and inpt. coding, billing and healthcare Cost of Care Estimates (COCE). Curtis is also a Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO) and provides expert litigation support to Attorneys - (both Plaintiff and Defense), in Personal Injury / Life Care Planning cases. He reviews medical records and physician reports to encode, evaluate, validate and calculate “Cost of Care” for retrospective care (past) or prospective care (short- or long-term), and can produce technical reports and testify in a variety of healthcare cost, business, contract or transactional issues in all 50 states. Curt’s experience and independent reputation enabled him to work with the Federal Government as the Project Manager of the DHHS OIG’s Office of Evaluation and Inspection (OIG-OEI) Physician EM Visit Audit Survey, where he coordinated the review and analysis of physician coding and assisted in delivery of the OIG’s report - Improper Payments for E/M Services Cost Medicare Billions In 2010.
